#SolarIsRadical@susankayequinn I find think tanks are stacked with neoliberal, right wing propagandists. I don't think I've ever seen or even heard of a decent think tank.
On the other hand, they now have Trump at the helm, so this may plateau it out, for a couple of years. Depending on the impact of the US on this R&D area.

@Harald_Korneliussen haha true, but the only people who care about the photons traveling through the Strait of Hormuz are the plants/animals/beings in the Strait of Hormuz

@Wifiwits @susankayequinn Not mention they have roofs and, in many cases, a spot of land around them that could host a PV panel or 7.
Imagine the effect turning on the money tap or shaking a few leaves from the magic money tree would have in bringing energy independence to people living in rural areas.

#SolarIsRadical@susankayequinn I am waiting for it, but someone will point to the destruction of solar panels in last night's U.S. storms as some kind of evidence that they aren't useful. Okay, Brad, but weren't those homes and businesses useful, the ones that also got destroyed?
People said the same inane thing after Hurricane Helene, when so many electric cars got inundated with salt water, and some of their batteries caught fire. Uh, I think that flood was destructive to everything, not just electric cars.
It's maddening that people try to make caring about ourselves, our environment, the planet, and each other, is somehow something we don't want.
