I think Hegseth quoting fake bible passages from Pulp Fiction, presumably because he doesn't know they're made up, perfectly illustrates the role of religion in right wing extremist politics.

I think Hegseth quoting fake bible passages from Pulp Fiction, presumably because he doesn't know they're made up, perfectly illustrates the role of religion in right wing extremist politics. It's a tool to control the masses. Nothing more.
In that respect, I am in 100% agreement with the pope.
I'm an atheist, but I grew up in a Christian community. US and Israeli violence is not in line with the core message. (Although there are people in my old community who supports them.)

@veronica Hello, I came across your profile, and something about your smile felt really warm and genuine. I just thought I’d say hello

Are they doing all that they do in the name of religion?@nuwagaba2 Trump is obviously not a religious nor moral individual, so to the extent he invokes religion it is purely as a tool in my opinion. But that doesn't mean people can't find ways to defend unspeakable acts of cruelty in the name of religion if they want to. So I honestly don't know. US has a long history of doing this. And they're far from alone in it.

@notyourfanboy Yeah, apparently he paraphrased Samuel L. Jackson's character's version of Ezekiel 25:17 from Pulp Fiction. It's not what the passage actually says.
