It's a tool to control the masses. Nothing more.</p><p>In that respect, I am in 100% agreement with the pope.</p><p>I'm an atheist, but I grew up in a Christian community. US and Israeli violence is not in line with the core message. But that doesn't mean people can't find ways to defend unspeakable acts of cruelty in the name of religion if they want to. So I honestly don't know. US has a long history of doing this.
