I'm an atheist, but I grew up in a Christian community. US and Israeli violence is not in line with the core message. (Although there are people in my old community who supports them.)

But that doesn't mean people can't find ways to defend unspeakable acts of cruelty in the name of religion if they want to. So I honestly don't know. US has a long history of doing this. And they're far from alone in it.
