Instructions for duck. For swans step two should be adapted.

@Pepijn These instructions are so old (Vine era, I think) that I don't know if they are up to date

@Pepijn @doktorzjivago Yes, but ducks are more domesticated? Hence the degree of crazy lady is a tad higher, but not really at swan lady level.
@Livija yeah I can see the reasoning. It doesn't sit right for me personally but does makes sense.

Hi #fediverse. We need to talk about something.
While browsing the Fediverse today it appears most people here have never tried to pick up a duck or swan. Like, not even once during their childhood.
Some people say they've not even touched a living chicken!
My hypothesis is that people here get upset about whatever hypothesis I present so I'll shutup on this.
π¦’ Have you try pick up a duck or swan?
Please boost for scientific accuracy (or don't, it's your choice, that #science for you!)
@Pepijn Successfully lifted ducks and geese (well, ducklings and goslings.) No swans or cygnets though.

I have picked up pet birds (tiny to large). No chickens or ducks. -
@Pepijn
For scientific reasons, now, urgently, I'm in need of a video on how to pick up the swan, or, in the absence of a swan, a goose.@kobold
Not. Like. This.

@Pepijn I have picked up a barred owl and a red-tailed hawk (not at the same time). However, I have never been in a situation where either I or a swan/duck/goose would benefit from me putting hands on it, so I've kept them to myself.

Ok. Just tried the two step method. It really is not as easy as the original video makes it out to be.

@Pepijn That duck looks like a rabbit

@SnyperWolf It's 2026, we really should try to not judge ducks by their cover.

@Pepijn Can be so difficult to tell them apart.

@Pepijn Pick up - no. Did pet a Canada goose while feeding them a couple summers back.
