    Paul Brainerd, founder of Aldus which developed the first "desktop publishing" app Pagemaker, passed last month.

    PM is what got me into this stupid printing business in the late 1980s, and not on purpose, but once I mastered it and later QuarkXPress, I was in it for better or worse.

    It turned out fine career-wise.

    I wasn't aware of his post-Aldus philanthropy. What a mensch. Today's tech-bros should take notice.

          @david Pagemaker was the first software I worked with. That and later DTP tools. Good times.
