@metin I finally understand the Americans preference for the word faucet as it seems the only way to turn it off is to force it.

@chengdulittlea Yes. Do you have two faucets, warm and cold, which you need to mix manually? That's a different kind of nuisance.

@metin No the most common ones here is you lift the flap up and down for amount of flow and push it left and right for cool and hot
and yes the usable mixing range is usually smaller than what we desire lol
They do have temperature controlled button-like fauset nowadays, where you tune a knob for temperature, supposedly it's something like a double metal band type of passive thermostat that adjusts the mixture, I used it a few times in the past, they seems to work better than what I expected.
-
@metin the useful range on mine is even smaller. I have to sliiiiightly tap and move it by millimeters. And when the hot water in the boiler gets lower, adjust it again and again.

@metin @chengdulittlea That's a way, but we also have a faucet that controls the force, and a faucet that controls the temperature. Because that, you know, makes sense unlike the alternatives.

@vonxylofon Oh yes this is the type I was talking about... I think these are usually more expensive tho

@vonxylofon @chengdulittlea Yes, this is what we've got at home, but without the force and temperature indicators.

@chengdulittlea Mine was one of the decent ones and cost literally $100. You can get one for $50.

@metin @chengdulittlea Same, but again, I technically live in the second world, so what do I know about #firstworldproblems.
