update on my #masto journey

    update on my #masto journey.
    After the first 3 days media storage explosion, been about a week and things have settled down.
    At one point it was at 47gb for just me, follow like 900 folk. So I stripped back my followers a little, but I think the key was to kill the hashtags I was following (was following a bunch of heavy photo/video tags like #birds ). Also set the media cache retention to 2 days.
    now seems to have settled at around 20gb

      @paperposts Keep in mind even if it’s at 20GB usage it’s still deleting and re-writing that 20GB every 2 days.

      Going to add up fast on consumer grade NVME with the write cycles.

      IF you host from home, something to consider.
