@meganL … this is the mate who a couple of years back messaged me to tell me he’d broken his back coming off his bike while I was, unbeknown to him, lying immobilised in hospital having broken my neck in the same manner over the same weekend.

@FourT4 We commented afterwards on just how well it floated. BB was sounding a little ropey by the time we’d rode home though. Kinda half-creak, half-squelch.

@pete ouch! Bit colder than the one time a #JoyRide participant did the same, but he just (somehow!!?!?) didn't spot the 90 degree turn at the Stanley Dock branch and rode straight into it.

I was filming at the time, but sadly at the back of the pack so all we saw were the ripples 🀣 https://youtu.be/RmrACWs_g58?si=K-LOkP92mx__dZSz&t=513

@pete @FourT4 I once tried riding through some floodwater that was over knee deep. Wheels lost traction, so I stopped and tried to dismount, and the bike kept floating up as I tried to lift my leg over.

I had to strip the wheels once I got home, there was still water sloshing around in the hollow rims.
