    This is the ideal pickup truck. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.

    @zwol hmm.
    I think it needs some silver accents. Or maybe a unicorn airbrush painting. But even without, extremely nice!

      @zwol@masto.hackers.town agreed on peak truck. Any suggestions for who to look at for new kei style trucks here in the US?

          @zwol@masto.hackers.town and the sides of the bed fold down so it can act as a flatbed

          it's actually more useful than a regular fullsized pickup

            It's called a pickup truck, because you should be able to pick it up! 👍

                      @energisch_ yeah! probably not the one in the photo though, it looked like it was at least 30 years old under the paint job

                        @FrazzledWings the one in the photo is at least 30 years old and probably a stick shift (i didn't look at it that closely) but i'm sure they make 'em with automatic transmissions nowadays

                            @megabyteghost @hugo @unsafelyhotboots further research indicates they _are_ road legal in many US states but it's kind of a mess, see e.g. https://keitruckconnect.com/us-states-you-can-drive-kei-trucks/

                              @unsafelyhotboots @zwol Many states now allow them on city streets, but not on freeways. You can find them anywhere you can find other vehicles online; autotrader, bring-a-trailer, etc.
                              Generally, they have to be over 25 yrs old to be imported.
