    RE: https://mstdn.ca/@MTL_Transit_Status_en/116216384178293544

More fool me for getting REM’d this morning.

The three stations between Édouard-Montpetit and Gare Centrale are functionally an important part of the Metro network at this juncture.

So, I ended up taking the long way around the mountain, which was about as much time as I’d have had to wait for the REM to restore service in the end (~25 minutes).

Not sure what my point is here 🤔

I guess it’s sad that most transit reporting in Montreal is about how unreliable the REM is. It’s not untrue, but that’s a harmful message to keep spreading about transit.

@heliomass Gare Centrale to Canora was down due to “emergency services”.

@heliomass REM is new, was never universally popular, and shows signs of not doing well in winter weather. Bound to be discussed.

@heliomass CDPQ commandeered money, tunnel and attention with promises of ultra reliable automated system designed to cope with winter and built in just a couple of years. So it is normal that eggs are thrown at their face when they don’t deliver.

@enviromontreal Quite, and I lay much of this blame with CDPQI rather than the media outlets. CDPQI never feel the need to explain themselves or build public understanding. Massive own goal in my opinion, but then they do have a monopoly, so where else are people going to turn?

(Oh, they’ll go back to their cars 🤦‍♂️)
