They are not difficult to remove, even behind your back. Helps to have clothing to conceal a strip of narrow flat spring. The same tools works on zip ties. Learned how to remove them in early ‘70s from a prestidigitator (a stage magician). Cops would not be amused. Yes, I’ve been handcuffed to a friend for open containers and weed, $40 fines, 56 years ago.

If you read between the lines, what he is really saying is "won't you please forget the horrible war I started to divert from the fact I knew about and associated with known pedophiles."
