I really think that the Dutch politicians at the time thought: "We don't exactly know what it extends to, but if USA and UK do it, it is probably good (for the rich and powerful)".I'm sure there was a certain amount of foreign influence too.
Building consensus between countries is important in establishing new ways of working, and that's no less true for the progressives seeking to reverse neoliberalism than it was for those who imposed it in the first place.

@ReggieHere Yeah, but I wasn't being truly serious. I suspect politicians to think and act like adolescents, thinking they are smart and know it all, but they ain't seen nothing yet. I am highly cynical towards politicians.
