The net around Russia's war machine is getting tighter.
As our sanctions take hold, we see a regime retreating behind a digital Iron Curtain to hide the truth about its failing economy. Yet, no matter how high the wall, it eventually falls.
Our 20th sanctions package to weaken the Kremlin’s invasion includes:
632 ships banned from our ports.
20 banks added to our list.
€365m in trade halted.
Zero tolerance for sanctions dodging.

@AngelicAura @EUCommission hm, I didn't actually think of that, I was thinking about it in the way of dodging taxes by not disclosing stuff.
@Jourei@mas.to @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu
I feel like EU thinks similarly and I can't hope for that to be solved. It'd be much more complicated in the first place. Ban trade of goods that were sourced in russia, but then how do you prove that?
Plus well, the Israel-USA aggression in the middle east made russian oil a hot commodity again, so they're not being hurt as much as they could if some other genociders didn't end up helping them -

https://link.europa.eu/xTHT3K@EUCommission Now to start building geothermal power-plants which can gain is not only energy but minerals as well.
Then we'd need less nuclear power-plants -> No need to buy Uranium from Russia -> Not financing Russian aggression
(It would also solve the question of "what do we do with the nuclear waste")

À la carte sanctions, big talk, and empty promises.
Hundreds of sanctions against Russia, yet you’re cowards when it comes to genocidal Israel.
But you always do the same thing everywhere—for example, in Syria and Libya.
Another prime example is the UAE, which is responsible for the genocide in Sudan. So you’d be better off keeping quiet than bragging.

As long as we buy fossil fuels anywhere on the world market we are (indirectly) supporting Russia with money.100% renewable energy is the only way to successful sanctions!

https://link.europa.eu/xTHT3KSerious question about all these sanctions:
Why do we need 20+ sanction packages?
Why can't we just do all the sanctions at once?
That would shorten the whole process tremendously. -
@denkbeteiligung @EUCommission perfection is the worst enemy of good
True. But it's also important to have targets, otherwise we'll not achieve anything.

https://link.europa.eu/xTHT3K@EUCommission the EU should keep adding sanctions on Russia, especially now that the US has the tendency to loosen their sanctions and give them an economic break. Their economy can't stand more of this war, which was the whole point of the sanctions in the first place.
