How do you feel about video creators who use text-to-speech for narration?
Specifically, a creator who:
1. discloses they're using text-to-speech, and why,
2. wrote the script themselves by hand without genAI, and
3. iterated on the input and output until it sounds good(This will determine whether I'm able to go back to making videos or whether I abandon the project and do something else with my free time)
Please boost so this escapes my bubble

If I had money I'd pay someone to narrate videos for me and the problem would just go away. But I don't, so I can't. And my channel isn't even *close* to being monetised.

@Cal i selected very positive but it's maybe just positive or slightly negative.
It depends on how good the research is and if it sounds like AI or not.
Especially irksome are preventable pronunciation errors - the only thing speaking for Gen ai here is consistency, and flawless pronunciation at an affordable price.

@jupiter Yeah, if I do go down this route - and it's a big if - it wouldn't just be a case of feeding my script into kokoro or whatever and having done with it. I'd go through the same workflow I did when I had the energy to record. Iterate on the output, re-record sections that sound bad, get it spot on. I've always felt that if I don't put my time into making it, why should I expect someone to spend their time watching it?
