“First VPN,” a VPN service allegedly used by ransomware operators and cybercriminals, has been dismantled in a global law enforcement operation.

Led by France & the Netherlands with support from Europol and Eurojust:
• 33 servers seized
• Thousands of suspected users identified
• 21 investigations advanced

Investigators say the VPN appeared in many major cybercrime investigations.

Targeting cybercrime infrastructure instead of only actors could reshape ransomware disruption strategies.
