Apple's security reputation is well earned. Secure Enclave, sandboxing, App Store review, end-to-end encryption in iMessage, the platform genuinely invests in protecting its users more than most.

But that reputation creates a dangerous habit. Most Apple users stop thinking about security entirely. They assume the ecosystem handles it.

It does not handle all of it. And the gaps are where things go wrong.
