For #MothersDay I will share some of my favorite #TextsFromMyKids:
-
This entire sequence has been amazing.
Waking up to these made my day better, but now I really want to meet your kids.

@benfromkc Thank you! I’m so lucky to have them.

one of my proud "surprise the parents" moments was when i was working at a place doing encryption hardware. at the time, this meant that you had to register with the state department as an arms dealer, since encryption was considered a munition.
my call home:
"so, mom & dad, you'll be happy to know that i've given up working on this whole internet thing and found something with a much steadier income. we've become arms dealers!"
-
@wendynather raising them right

Well, it’s possible that at some point the diaper will be on the other butt, so to speak

kids being hysterically funny is the biggest reason why we have survived as a species. otherwise, we'd all have been killed off in our teen years for reasons.

@wendynather not getting this one

i feel that it is my duty as a child to be sure that my parents' blood flow is always up to a certain level. in my case, that means keeping their blood pressure up on a regular basis.

another classic:
me: hi mom, are you sitting down?
mom: should i be?
me: i'd recommend it. so, i've given it a lot of thought and i've decided to drop out of college and enlist in the navy or air force
mom: <quiet for a good full minute> well. that's original. so. seriously. how much do you need in your checking account?
another fun one:
me: so, folks, i've decided to drop out of college and learn to build and repair guitars and other musical instruments
i suspect i found a partner with infinite patience because i knew that i'd need someone as patient as my parents.

When one of your kids is #ActuallyAutistic
@wendynather Hi! The ActuallyAutistic hashtag is only for use by people who are themselves autistic. Respectfully, the entire point of the tag is to not include parents of autistic children unless they are themselves autistic. We've had a lot of trouble with parents overshadowing our experiences and discussions, and so the tag was created (across platforms) as a place just for us.
Your bio doesn't mention being autistic, and I'm inferring from the text shown that you're not. If that's the case, please don't use the ActuallyAutistic tag. Use tags like #autistic and #autism

@wendynather doubt it
