    You might remember my distress at not having been able to grab any tiny balancing sheep photos. Went out for a walk today and it wasn't perfect (the pathway is noticeably higher than the field which makes it tricky) BUT VICTORY IS MINE! πŸ‘ 😁

    I continue to stand by rubbish-but-real being better than polished-but-fake.

    Behold my rubbish-but-real triptych.

    The earlier discussion on the value of rubbish-but-real in the context of tiny balancing sheep was here, in case anyone wonders why I'm banging on about this as a victory 😁

    eclectech (@eclectech@things.uk)

    I've been thinking about Tiny Balancing Sheep (TBS) & how my liking for them highlights one of the things I dislike about AI art (bear with me here). I was on the lookout for an opportunity to snap myself a TBS this week. I failed (I will persevere). But I could MAKE one really easily. I have loads of suitable photos & am a dab hand at editing. But it would be lacking ALL the joy of finding a TBS & that's where all the value of the photo lies. It's the process. 1 /n #TinyBalancingSheep #AI

          @GreenSkyOverMe I was *far* too excited when I realised they were there (the path only has a very small number of posts - it was a tiny balancing miracle)!

            Rubbish but real is entirely my approach πŸ™‚

            (While trying (but mostly failing, in good humour) to become less rubbish through practice.)

              @eclectech Excellent work!

              I hardly ever come across sheep in my neck of the woods but I did meet someone repainting the lighthouse!

              I did think of the magnificent but too rare tiny balancing sheep whenI took this πŸ˜„

                  @OccasionalDucks Definitely the way forward. I am going to try and work up to a good tiny balancing sheep, but getting some rubbish ones was still very satisfying!
