"Tuberville’s despicable attacks on a school for Muslim children in Hoover should have been disqualifying. His grossly offensive attempt to pair the 9/11 attacks with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a Muslim, would have finished him in a state that values basic decency."
The conclusion: #Alabama is not a state that values basic decency, as evidenced by the fact that ~60% of its voters consistently choose the most disgusting, contemptible people for elected office. AL will continue to be a shithole state until that number flips. Because so many of its own residents are colossal shitheads. https://alabamareflector.com/2026/03/30/this-election-is-a-referendum-on-alabama-politicians-not-muslims/

I've come to the conclusion that Republican voters choose the most vile politicians out of sheer spite and vindictiveness, driven by their own insecurities. They feel bad about themselves, and rather than confront their own character flaws and change for the better they choose to lash out at their perceived enemies. They don't choose candidates to achieve specific policy outcomes, but rather to degrade and humiliate their enemies. And what better way to do that than to find and inflict the worse humans beings upon us and demand our respect and obedience while they sneer?

Yes. They are bad people and it's no deeper than that. And if they try to pretend to make it about some elevated "policy," well POSIWID, their policies all are designed to inflict suffering. -
