@JessTheUnstill that any one considers this not the bare minimum boggles the mind.

It feels like arguing "No, this confrence room shouldn't have a fire alarm and while we're at it lets lock the doors while the talks are in progress"

@emily_s You can't unlock the doors until we've PROVEN that there's fire behind the smoke. I mean, what if we evacuate when it wasn't actually necessary?

@JessTheUnstill @emily_s "Why are you so invested in the feelings of sex pests? Is there a particular sex pest you are worried won't be able to visit or pay for things if they aren't handled with kid gloves?"

@JessTheUnstill "No no, we can't evauate the building until this suspicous ticking and oil stained package has been proven to be a bomb by it exploding, even if it looks like something, it could just be someones playdoh collection, we have to be 100% sure."

@emily_s Not to worry, said ticking oil stained package is over on the side of the room with the women and minorities.

@JessTheUnstill I'm with you. Imagine taking a bullet for someone who knowingly associated with a serial child rapist. "well they weren't charged with a crime" yeah that's not the point, fuck-o. They thought the serial child rapist was an ok dude. Is it a "crime", no, but why would you think it's ok to invite them to your party??

@PetterOfCats And let's say just for sake of argument, the story was true - the sex trafficking kingpin was just some money guy you got introduced to and traded a few emails with.

Then you take the L and say "Yup, I fucked up talking with the guy. Sorry I'll miss y'all at DEFCON this year. Maybe I'll regain the community's trust in the future, but I'll respect the committee's decision to uninvite me for the foreseeable future."

@JessTheUnstill but like not even that. OP's post was dripping with moralistic arrogance like "I know what's actually right" like no you don't. It's obvious from your post. You're in security with this judgment? YIKES! I know I'd never hire you.

@cuddle_puddle It could be an endless number of them, but in this context it's about DEFCON banning some of Epstein's pals.
