@JessTheUnstill I'm with you. Imagine taking a bullet for someone who knowingly associated with a serial child rapist. "well they weren't charged with a crime" yeah that's not the point, fuck-o. They thought the serial child rapist was an ok dude. Is it a "crime", no, but why would you think it's ok to invite them to your party??

@PetterOfCats And let's say just for sake of argument, the story was true - the sex trafficking kingpin was just some money guy you got introduced to and traded a few emails with.
Then you take the L and say "Yup, I fucked up talking with the guy. Sorry I'll miss y'all at DEFCON this year. Maybe I'll regain the community's trust in the future, but I'll respect the committee's decision to uninvite me for the foreseeable future."
