"There are a few culinary traditions that must be respected when you live in the great Midwestern state of Indiana."

"When you're in the Hoosier state, and you're craving a pizza, though, there is only one answer: Pizza King, a chain of pizza restaurants numbering over 100 that traverses Indiana, and which has become an empire of pie, stemming from a single location in Lafayette, Indiana."

If you're from Indiana, you already know the pizza empire that spans the state, but you might not realize the reason behind why the menu differs by location.

@KrissyKat Oh, cool! I didn’t know there were that many!

They were not here in Indianapolis until only the last several years, I believe. I only knew about Pizza King as a kid because my cousins in Connersville would talk about it.

@KrissyKat I know this is sacrilege, but when I lived there I was never a Pizza King fan. I didn’t like the way they chopped the meat toppings into confetti.
