Still no baby goats!!

Still no baby goats!! And the weather is now totally awful: freezing rain overnight, currently horizontal hard snow (ouch), and we're supposed to get 20cm of snow today. So maybe today is the day! It *is* the due date for 5 of them, so I'll be checking on them a lot in between trying to get back into some kind of regular writing schedule after chaos travel.
Wishing the best of luck with the baby goats to the Fedi's favourite astronomer __and__ goat herder!

@Sempf They are pretty clueless with birth. Very good with the babies, though!
@sundogplanets I would imagine it would be quite a shock. "Where did THOSE things come from? Oh well, I protec."

@sundogplanets That's a nice barn, so much space for the goats! The babies will be able to run around and jump even with the bad weather

@sundogplanets Hmm goats. Are they pretty easy or do you ever have to assist? We have only ever had issues with sheep (no goats or actually yes goats but wild). Mainly cross-breds that are consequentially too large or physically different from their usual purebred lambs, that and the usual round of abandonments, mastitis and having to admin penicillin-streptomicin injections. We don't do cross-breds anymore and have far fewer sheep. #FediFarm

Still no baby goats. There's a fair bit of snow on the ground again. Sigh.
Also, have you ever noticed how weird llamas are? (I promise, he's doing ok, he's just depressed by the late snowfall, I think.)

@nf3xn I've only had to assist a couple of times. They are usually pretty good on their own, but they babies need to be dried and warmed up pretty quick when it's this cold out, which is most of the reason I'm checking frequently.

@sundogplanets wild. I didn’t realize a llama could look so porcine just lying there.
My childhood infatuation with llamas (mainly due to the ‘push-me-pull-you’ in Dr. Doolittle) is definitely challenged.

Llamas and alpacas are basically poodles as far as temperament and fluff go

Your llama looks more like a giant wooly slug. Hope it find it's legs again.

@sundogplanets did you explain to the goats how many people all over the world are waiting?
