Will there be any pie in your Pi Day?
-
@ottaross I work at a pizza-software company and Pi Day is statistically a "pizza attracting day" (most customers are in the US).
Seems like more of a US thing, but pizzas are regularly called pies, even outside of Chicago-style ones.
It's also my birthday and I'm going to Pizza Nerds with my family so I'm doing my bit.
@insom it's the Italian influence:
"When the moon hits your eye
Like a big pizza pie,
That's amore."

@brooke seems to meet the crust and filling requirement. There's a very low bar.

@ottaross Pi day totally flew under my radar this year, but for some reason I felt compelled to get a saskatoon berry pie at Farm Boy!
Must have been the gods whispering in my ear!

@zazzoo well done. I might need to walk over and get something to bulk up the blueberries I have in the freezer to make a suitably robust pie today.

@ottaross Side note, I'm always drooling over your baking photos. Have you ever considered picking up the torch that Life of Pie dropped?

@zazzoo thanks! Don't know what 'Life of Pie' was, but I'm happy with the little tidbits of fame my odd bread gets me.

<sound of cutlery dropping, room goes silent>You've never heard of Life of Pie? Ottawa's premiere pie shop? The owner retired earlier this year and it shut down and left many people with sad holes in their hearts that used to be filled with pie.

@ottaross Yeah, they've turned into a real sit-down restaurant for Roberto's Corners which is itself a fantastic Italian sandwich place that used to be (still is?) run out of the back of a gas station on St.Laurent.
Still, I was in Toronto last week hanging around Kensington and brought back a pie from Pie in the Sky, there. Sad to say it wasn't in the same league.
