A: I agree USA media is censored & heavily manipulated.

B (my point): the OG TikTok fuss was the surveillance baked into it. Spying, not censoring, was when banning and a forced sale began being called for.

hackers (esp cypherpunks) called out the giant irony (only us apps can surveil us like that).

LOL In America if you want to find out what your neighbours are up to, don't sidle up to a government spook. You can buy the information from advertisers, they know what you eat, the colour of your underwear, how you vote, and when you or your other is pregnant. Imo the only security problem was the direction of profits.
