    Friggin' Europe, back at it again with the micromobility.

    Bicycle lockers are a game changer. First time using one. Love not having to take off my lights, bags, pump, and other widgets. #BikeTooter

      @kirk As a North American who lives in a city with only a handful of bike lanes ... this makes me borderline weepy.

            @kirk I don't know why we're so backwards. We're lucky to even have sidewalks in some areas. God forbid the truck nuts can't hog the entire road with their lifted F150s...

              @st3phvee the worst is when places install cycle/pedestrian infrastructure and then rip it out months later cause drivers complain/they can't drive properly and keep running into the barriers...

                    @kirk Iโ€™m retired now but I used a similar bike locker in Denver Colorado at a light rail station for many years. It worked quite well.

                    As far as homeless people sleeping in the lockers it happened occasionally but didnโ€™t seem to be a deal breaker. The transit agency required users to sign an agreement and use locks provided by the agency, so the only time a locker was unsecured was in between leases.

                      @kirk I guess if you knew one of those was available at your destination you could carry a much smaller lock, like a diamond secure padlock

                      @768kb @kirk
                      You would have to know it was available at every destination you're going to that day - which sounds like a lot more overhead and planning that just throwing a chain around the stem of your seat ...
