My local kebab shop has two automatic kebab-shaving robots. They do not look like people or animals and are not cute, which makes the degree to which I have anthropomorphized them very weird.
They are my friends and I love them.

There's a high probability, that this is "Der Gerät", which was originally a meme and now is the official product name. An interview if the inventor went viral in Germany around 2010 in which he called it "der Gerät" (the machine, masculine form) instead of "das Gerät" (neuter form) after a TV show picked up on this. He embraced it and changed the name of the robot from "Alkadur Döner Roboter" to "Der Gerät".
