What's that? A major OS update has broken compatibility with a number of things? AGAIN? Colour me shocked. 
It would be nice if MacOS got better, but it also doesn't run on just any computer, so it also gets my personal stamp of 'shitass operating system' -

@maddy@thegayagenda.fans Didn't they start making this a requirement under Win10, for some deployments? I see to recall our IT team having to ensure all newly provisioned laptops had an Internet connection when we imaged them

@maddy it’s not just Adobe though, they’re just the easiest example. There’s also Clip Studio Paint, Davinci Resolve (which has support only on one very specific distro/version combo), games (though valve is chipping away at that one), and so many other productivity apps that only support Windows and Mac.
The biggest barrier to Linux taking off is better proprietary software support.

@maddy I think what I also mean isn’t just porting the same software over. I also mean better support for packaging and distributing paid software across all distros. It’s one reason I keep hoping that flatpak keeps getting better and wins out as the defacto way to distribute Linux software.
There’s also the whole mess that is Linux UI tooling. And the clusterfuck that is the X11 to Wayland migration.
Distro maintainers have really made a mess of things.

What is the Linux setup for davinci resolve you mention. I'm trying to get off msoft and this is the holdup. -
