Yesterday, I got to take a visiting Mastodon mutual to bao, the dimsum restaurant on Valencia St in the Mission.

It is one of very few places where you can have dimsum for dinner (sit down dimsum is typically a breakfast / brunch thing).

The standard was as good as any other high quality dimsum place I like. They have a much smaller menu compared to a traditional dimsum hall, but large for a Chinese restaurant in the Mission. They have all of the classics.

I would try everything there except the xlb (I’m picky and don’t think Cantonese people do it well). The standard dimsum classics (har gow, siu mai, turnip cake, woo kok) were all good.

They have plenty of veg options as well, well marked on the menu.

@skinnylatte Interesting. The only place I knew of that did all day dimsum was Dimsum King in Daly City. It's not the best dimsum I've had, but it isn't terrible either.

@Bluedonkey yeah city view in sf does it. That’s the only other place I know in the city.

Being open all day is usually a sign of poor quality to me, so I was happy to be proven wrong
