We are turning digital policy into tangible benefits for all EU citizens.

Our updated Digital Europe Programme focuses on:

👉 Online safety: an app for victims of cyberbullying to report incidents.
👉 Education: €10 million to keep school data safe and independent from non-EU platforms.
👉 A new call for Safer Internet Centres to help keep children and young people protected online.
👉 A new Data Act legal helpdesk to help businesses navigate new data sharing rules.

@EUCommission here is something interesting. How about not giving passport authority to American mega corps? https://social.tchncs.de/@kuketzblog/116353284243133747

@EUCommission and yet you are championing ways for known, powerful pedophiles (0 arrests, 0 trials with more evidence than has ever been obtained in child abuse and trafficking cases) to track our childrens' every move, linked to their government IDs and their parents', so they can find the most vulnerable kids and abuse them. Tangible benefits for citizens while making it easier to kidnap their children? You are handing the location, IDs, and mental state of vulnerable children to abusers.

What's about software/hardware transparency so that EVERYONE can proof that software/hardware works as expected and aligned with EU laws? The EU market is big enough to push such!
What's about EU data sovereignty so that ONLY WE Europeans decide what data to collect and where to store. No sharing for cheap reasons or out of political subservience!

What's about European Culture of subsidiarity? Standardized decentralized protocols, not centralized platforms!
USE decentralized (European) Software(-protocols) such as Mastodon with ActivityPub FIRST instead of offshore (no-)controlled platforms!

@EUCommission Time to revise the idea to ban anonymous use of the internet, now that we know Meta were secretly paying for all the lobbying. The EU needs to take into account where the dirty money came from.
