Does anyone know where fall detection is on my watch so I can set it up?
-
@EJGilbert I set it up a long time ago, but can't find where it is now. But when I asked Siri on the watch, it gave me a bunch of links. Maybe one of them will have the answer.
@kernsac When I asked Siri, how do I set up fall detection on my Apple Watch, it said sorry I can’t help you with that.

@EJGilbert@dragonscave.space @kernsac@mindly.social My watch is currently charging but if you haven't gotten an answer by this evening I'll find the setting. -

@technolass Thank you so much!

@EJGilbert @technolass I don't think there is a setting. I think it is on by default. mine has triggered a few times although I didn't actually fall. it sets off an alarmrm. I will look through settings and see if I can find anything.

@EJGilbert @technolass so in settings, sos, there is a toggle for fall detection which is on by default. I think you can set up a contact to be notified when one of these alarms triggers. although I have not set that up.

@bmoore123@tweesecake.social @EJGilbert@dragonscave.space I don't know how to say this without sounding really bad. I believe the fall detection is age-based. I've always had to enable it myself. -

@technolass @EJGilbert yeah, maybe it is. guess I am getting old since it thinks I need it.

@bmoore123 @technolass Oh dear! Thanks to my MS. I’m going to need it too.

@technolass Caroline is right.
It is automatically on if you are 65 or older.
I had to turn it on when I got an Apple watch.
When I gave mine to my mom a few years ago, Fall detection automatically turned on for her. -

@bmoore123 @technolass Hmmm, maybe they changed it, or perhaps something in your health profile triggered it?
