TOM WAITS & CRYSTAL GAYLE
One From The Heart - The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
1982 Canada pressingA sentimental favorite of mine for Saturday morning breakfast.
The project where Tom Waits met his wife Kathleen Brennan, and where Tom said he learned to be a more focused, disciplined songwriter.
There’s some beautiful songs on this thing, and Crystal Gayle (surprisingly!) is a wonderful vocal partner for Waits.
It’s one of those soundtracks that is FAR superior to the movie that birthed it, as the film is one of Francis Ford Coppola’s most flawed.
Gorgeous songs here, though.

@TheVinylApe Agreed. As a film, Megalopolis reminded me stylistically of One From the Heart. I think Coppola achieved his goals in both films. But the goals just didn’t resonate with me.
