@itsfoss When I was on Windows, I mostly used Brave until I learned it was supporting crypto stuff. When I switched to Linux, I started with Firefox and now use Vivaldi in parallel. I need to do a deeper dive into Librewulf and Waterfox to see which will replace Firefox for me.

Firefox-I like the extensions that allow you to block ads and ai slop -
Lets look at these options.
Vivaldi and Chrome are both closed source, so no one who cares about their digital sovereignty should ever consider them when there are so many other options available.
In a vacuum, Brave is an ok browser, but it is still based on Chromium (Just like Chrome and Vivaldi) which is not good for your privacy/security. Because of Manifest v3, you are limited in what ad blocking you can use/do. Also, Brave's leadership is extremely problematic, their CEO, Brenden Eich, is a genuine bigot.
Of the four options listed, Firefox is the only decent option, but even then it is not the best option for Firefox based browsers. There are so many excellent forks, like Librewolf, Zen, Waterfox, and Mullvad, that will respect your privacy and freedom.

@itsfoss LOL Vivaldi is NOT FOSS (neither is Chrome).

@rustbuckett @itsfoss @AAKL @Kdude lot's of thoughts and prayers, mixed with a weird obsession that the next over hyped tool will fix all the basic problems

@kdkorte @Kdude @rustbuckett @itsfoss And that's what preying tech companies hope for.
@AAKL @Kdude @rustbuckett @itsfoss preying tech companies, cyber criminals, and foreign spy agencies

@kdkorte @Kdude @rustbuckett @itsfoss And that chain/domino effect is something average users don't seem to understand or don't want to understand. You can't protect people from themselves.

@itsfoss its #librewolf for me currently. But when is #ladybirdbrowser going to release?
