@dansup @pixelfed super excited for exif support and geolocations. Those were two of my most requested. In order to keep servers up and running, could there be donation options that grant you increased upload sizes but at the same time you're helping maintain the server?

@dansup @pixelfed exciting, but I really want a redesigned 'album' interface because Instagram is not the be all and end all of photo sharing. Great stuff, just not great for sharing multiple photos from events as it stands.

@dansup @pixelfed I really hope exifdata preservation is opt-in! My expectation as a user is that my app/platform will strip away any exifdata of uploaded images/videos by default.

@BafDyce @pixelfed Oh yeah it is, EXIF preservation is opt-in and users will be asked prompted about adding limited fields (like device, iso, etc).

We will strip geolocation data, unless you explicitly check a box during each compose session.

I have the same question / wish for this feature as @BafDyce:

As a Pixelfed admin I want to be able to turn this feature off as a standard for all users.
All users should be able to turn it off and on as a standard. And they should be able to turn it off and on for each posting.
But when they post without location, the location should not be saved for later use.

@dansup while you are touching Location fix the lat/lng properties. Those are floats in a string currently while the spec wants them float. Noticed while working on a activitypub server an debugging location ingestion. Wanted to file a bug but never got around to it sorry
