2 quick things.
I bought stuff in the RSC shop because I'm a sucker for merch. The guy serving me had a semi-colon tattooed* on his wrist so I said I liked his tattoo and that I'm glad he's here. He seemed really bloody pleased I said that.
And then there was the show itself. When people talk about there being good things around the corner and you don't want to miss out on the next thing you're going to love, I never believed them. That was nonsense. Nothing new or exciting is waiting for me. But I just saw Kenneth Branagh on stage at the RSC. Kenny B! It was spellbinding (little Tempest joke there) and I'm so glad I was able to witness it. I'm so glad that that is now a part of the tapestry of my life. This is the kind of moment those people were talking about and I didn't see it coming until this morning.
So *that's* why I had to stick around. I wonder what moment is waiting for me next?
*This is a common symbol for someone who has had an "end" and a "beginning" in their life. Sometimes, not always, it signifies a suicide attempt and the tattoo is a sign that they survived.
