I didn't get an interview for my dream job because if I had, it would have been today. I thought I was super qualified for it. So I feel trapped in this current job, but don't feel comfortable talking to anyone about why that is.

And then I only have one run left in Couch to 5k and I already know I'm never going to run again. I went from no exercise to running 3-4 times a week for 9 weeks and it hasn't had any effect. My weight is the same, and my body is the same shape (this is what I wanted to change). The only observable differences are that my resting heart rate has gone down by 3 bpm and my hips hurt a lot every single day and make me look like C3P0 when I move. My mental health hasn't improved, my sleep is still terrible, it never feels good. So why bother?

What's the point of any of this?

Gah. I think I'm mostly just looking to vent but if someone has a spare half mil lying around, that would probably go a long way to helping.

@miffyhelen@beige.party I feel for you. It's crazy to do that much work and commitment for nothing.

Having said that, running is good for cardio but it's terrible on the body and, as you've seen, it's not a good weight loss tool. Consider a hamburger has like 1,000 calories and you burn around 100 calories an hour jogging (variations based on weight but around there). It's just not possible to run weight off without a complementary diet change that reduced calories as well. 🤷‍♂️
