I've woken up with a stonking headache this morning. This is very unusual for me.
I may not have drunk enough yesterday evening (I had a pint of lemonade - I don't understand the Petanque players who can get through three pints in an evening, play well, and then drive home).
Or it could be a function of my blood pressure - which is what I'm doing later this morning. I'm having a 24 hour blood pressure monitor fitted at a local pharmacy at the request of my GP. For the rest of the day I expect I will be complaining about how uncomfortable it is.
In the meantime I will be looking longingly at the box of paracetamols.Have a stonkingly good day!

@MikeFromLFE when I worked on a campsite in France. We had the campers playing pétanque against the locals, pastis was the refreshing drink during the game. It was good to know that nobody had far to go after the weekly tournament

Hope your headache will get better soon.

I'd love to have a go at Petanque. I know I would be dreadful at it, but it's something I have never done.
I hope your headache clears and the blood pressure thing isn't too uncomfortable

@PetraPhoenix
It's the first game / sport I've ever participated in (and I'm 70) so I had no ball throwing form at all when I started about 4 years ago.I found my local club to be incredibly welcoming and supportive. They are inclusive and welcome everyone.
My strong impression is that unless you get to play at national or international level then everyone is friendly regardless of ability.Petanque England has a club finder on their website (but it's really crappy, and a lot of clubs fly under the radar as pub teams etc)
