I find them on Instagram only to discover that it's impossible to see their menu there when not logged in.

FFS businesses, stop getting captured by #Meta. It hurts your business.Some small places that survived the pandemic shutdowns shed their waitstaff, so self-ordering apps, web apps, and kiosks support that reduced staffing. It's pretty hostile to some customers if there is no physical kiosk, though.
In my case, the significance of one QR code on a corner of a table wasn't obvious, and it's a wonder that someone noticed the increasingly restive old people sitting with no drinks or settings in front of them, and came over and explained it to us.
