@Netraven @briankrebs birthrates have been declining since the 50s. I am not sure what the agenda is, but that information alone is worrisome.

This is so deeply embarrassing and shocking at the same time.@Netraven @briankrebs We've been desensitised for decades. While this is extremely distasteful, the left was completely on board with immigration enforcement prior to Trump. Both sides are insanely polarized right now. As a trauma and gang violence survivor, I can assure you the direction some of the people on the left are heading isn't any better. This puts as much of a bitter taste in my mouth as seeing liberals post videos cheering on the cartels. There's a balance between upholding the law and protecting our own rights and neither side seems to have that balance in sight.

They literally want to kill personal computing forever.@thomasfuchs I appreciate you adding to the list of reasons that I absolutely can't stand Microsoft.

lol someone got butthurt hurt at me complaining about AI writing@skinnylatte I have used plenty of AI to enhance my writing, but not once have I expected it to form an opinion for me. I generally have to do quite a bit of prompt engineering and I often have to go back and proofread it/edit it anyway.
Over time, I have grown somewhat disillusioned with AI but it can still be a useful tool when used properly. The issue is that people don't know how to use it properly. It definitely does quite a bit of harm to society but some people recognize it as a tool that can enhance their writing, learning, etc. and others replace their critical thinking skills with it.

The amount of propaganda bots trying to sign up lately is bonkers.@jerry This is the unfortunate reality of the internet right now. A free, open internet also fosters an environment for botnets and propaganda. Just like freedom of speech and other civil rights, it's a double edged sword.
While we can remain proactive and fight back against people with malicious intent, bad actors will always try to abuse systems created by those with good intentions and that is just the reality we have to accept.

The OS debate isn't just about workflows; it’s a compliance battleground for your fundamental digital rights.@sstendahl I mean, that's a fair critique because I did plug in precisely what I wanted written out into an LLM to help me construct the flow but it was definitely my own thoughts and views based on my current outlook on the battle of OSes and California's recent legislation.
I just used it like a grammarly tool. I didn't ask it to form my opinion for me, though. However, it definitely wasn't OpenAI. I try not to touch anything Microsoft has a hand in.

macOS is a proprietary walled garden.🪟 Windows is a telemetry funnel for corporate data collection.
Linux is Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). It represents native digital sovereignty.Look at California’s shifting legislative landscape. Last year’s Digital Age Assurance Act (AB 1043) tried to force operating systems to mandate user age-gating. Lawmakers are trying to correct the mess via AB 1856 to exempt open-source developers but the new bill just pushes the surveillance pipeline further down, forcing browsers to silently track and broadcast user age brackets across the web.
When state laws treat technology as a top-down surveillance mechanism, proprietary systems will gladly bake enforcement right into their closed-source kernels.
FOSS isn't just a development model anymore; it's a critical tool for internet freedom and operational self-defense.
