@lps Well, this does require two 5090s at the moment, so clearly this is going to work out great!

We need to separate “tech” companies from videogames.@JigenD Why? And why does it matter what you think is qualified to be the end result of someone else’s creative process? Open the article, if you will, there are screenshots from other games, including the new RE. Even if you are somehow an authority on what constitutes finished art, I’m sure that example will be sufficient.
But like… What the fuck is wrong with you? Hell!..

We need to separate “tech” companies from videogames.@okr Thing is, as a developer you won’t have a say here. Maybe not this time, but eventually their goal is to replace your voice and input.

We need to separate “tech” companies from videogames.@RoseThorndyke I think that’s what they call “neural rendering”, a.k.a. what if genai imagined the entire image roughly based on the original frame, ditching any artistic intent, style, and voice.

We need to separate “tech” companies from videogames.@DKesserich They’ve been disappointing for a long time, yeah. And I can’t really tell if this is them cowardly making sure Nvidia doesn’t blacklist them (like they do with honest reviewers), or if they are genuinely completely apathetic to the art form rendering tech is supposed to be made for.
Either way, games are like empty benchmarks for them. Not something to be appreciated.

We need to separate “tech” companies from videogames.@leroy Well, fuck them artists is the message, I guess. Like all “AI”, the goal is to erase human voices.

We need to separate “tech” companies from videogames. Also, fuck Digital Foundry. Like, seriously. That level of oozing over shit Nvidia peddles is disgusting. (and not new for them)

We need to separate “tech” companies from videogames.@ozamidas I’m pretty sure it’s their own tech. DLSS has always been ML based. They are just moving it past image reconstruction. It’s not a model swap, more like a faceapp kind of effect. Though Nvidia is capable of replacing models at runtime too, that’s what RTX Remix does.
-
We need to separate “tech” companies from videogames.@ozamidas I mean, yeah, it literally is an AI generated image over the game. Just, in realtime, using two 5090s. It would be idiotic as is, but as they peddle it as the next version of DLSS, it’s just catastrophic.

We need to separate “tech” companies from videogames. We need to separate “tech” companies from videogames. This level of ghoulishness is insufferable. This is not progress in visual tech. This is defacing of an art form by people with ugly souls.
