Well, not really a figure of speech, but still one of my favourite sayings about cows : "Als de koe naar Rome gaat, ontmoet ze al gauw prikkeldraad".
When the cow goes to Rome, she quickly encounters barbed wire.

Just finished reading both Space Dragons books, and I really really enjoyed it.Just finished reading both Space Dragons books, and I really really enjoyed it. (I think I count @vicorva among my favourite living authors. They have such a talent for sucking me into the worlds they create.)
It's set in a world in which dragons provide the means of faster than light travel, with a diverse cast of interesting people. It took me a while to get used to the mental image of a dragon with feathers, but the little details like Luxorian preening their feathers really helped with building the image.
So I enjoyed myself with a little doodle of Luxorian...
