We’re leaving Facebook / Instagram / Meta / X.@novacustom Reddit is as bad (if not worse) than X. Bluesky is as toxic.
Just keep Fediverse (Mastodon, maybe Lemmy) and RSS (for the fully open-web). Nothing else is really needed. -
The fediverse, ATProto/Bluesky and Nostr are not competitors.@dansup @anewsocial a little comment: ActivityPub and Nostr are truly free and empowering, but separated by politics. ATProto is free on paper, but realistically is centralised.
I wish ActivityPub and Nostr would just work on the tech and collaborate more. ActivityPub Nomadic Identities are just Nostr with extra-steps. Let’s work together! -
Growing up now is growing up online.@EUCommission instead of limiting citizens, control the networks. Why the Chinese TikTok pushes STEM content and the western version pushes brainrot? It means the network can moderate dangerous content, but they don’t want to do so in the West.
Enforce Meta and TikTok to limit brainrot and you solve 90% of the issues without adopting Soviet-style laws.
