A question for UI/UX experts.
If you need to get confirmation from a user, what's an alternative for a pop-up modal?
The advertising industry, with cookie consent, has conditioned people to just OK them.
I have lost count how many support requests I've seen that can be directly traced to a person not reading, or possibly not even noticing, an "are you sure you want to do this?" dialog, even when said pop-up precisely described the consequences of proceeding.

— "Lots of people can no longer cook their own food from raw ingredients, because pre-processed convenience foods are so abundant and readily available. That's a problem, don't you think?"
— "Well digesting food is the wrong approach anyway, we should have nutritional IV drips for everyone!"
See how helpful that sort of argument is?
There's so much concentration in the video call market that lots of people are now genuinely stumped when their browser asks them to share their mic and camera.
Because they allowed that years ago for Google and Zoom and Teams and never had to use anything else, when they now stumble upon a self-hosted BBB instance or similar, they've forgotten how to do it.
And they don't read the pop-up, because they've been conditioned by cookie banners not to.
Tech is going great, innit.
