@ottaross the @internetarchive is a HIGHLY underrated source of great classic movies. I wish someone had a great frontend for sorting through their catalog of full length films to view, download, or stream... Granted I know turning them into a glorified streaming service would just tax the absolute hell out of their infrastructure at scale... a guy can dream lol.

@julie @skinnylatte last time I took an Amtrak, the Capitol 30 Limited Chicago to DC, we were delayed in the middle of nowhere Indiana for 9 hours waiting for the freight train crew to come back on and move their train, we were stuck with nowhere to even switch tracks and go around. Had the same thing happen from Detroit back to Chicago too- that time 3 hours. It’s a huge problem EVERYWHERE.

@julie @skinnylatte yes, they are. But they don’t. It’s a serious point of contention here in Chicago as commuter trains are CONSTANTLY delayed or skip stops altogether due to “freight train interference” as they like to call it. It’s one of the reasons I refuse to take public trans into the office when I have to go. That and the dude masturbating in the corner.

@nixCraft while the world freaks out this is getting baked in at the OS level, the marketing world is salivating over the fact that every single website on the planet with any form of monetization or advertisement baked in will start hammering this API and tying it set cookies for better retargeting and demographic analysis.
