Finally started reading Iain Banks Culture series, starting with "Consider Phelbas". For some reason I thought they would be difficult, but so far they're really fun and easy reading. Lots of action and adventure.

New Highpoint Lowlife Radio from @sideb0ard has a lot of new exclusive music from me and friends!@silvermoats Hmm... I don't know. It's some spectral processing. Different algorithms applied to different frequency bands.

It feels like the right time for me to move away from the generative/algorithmic and back towards improvisation.@t36s I realized that I started to depend too much on the machine to make music for me. I became too much of a passive consumer of an endless generative stream of music. It started to feel dehumanized and overwhelming. I would sit there hitting the button over and over again like I was addicted to a slot machine.
And it felt like a microcosm of what is happening in the wider world, with AI slop and endless feeds. It started to feel gross.
After I made that decision and posted that, I watched this video, which captures a lot about what I was feeling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8dcFhF0Dlk
