When I was younger and first encountered humanism, I felt like it was a nothing burger. Of course every person is deserving of dignity. Of course. Why bother even saying it?The older I get, the more I’m struck by just how many people don’t share that core tenet in their world view. I now see it as one of the fundamental divides in our society.
Canada Post is charging me a $10 handling fee for a package I ordered. Which, whatever I will pay $10 extra, fine, but …what the hell was I paying postage for if “handling” isn’t included in that price?
