@b5baxter Energize Vancouver includes provisions for meeting zero GHG for retail and office buildings by 2040. Residential buildings have to report, but are not subject to carbon taxes imposed on an ever increasing scale over time to meet GHG targets.
This initiative is leadership in climate action. As we know fossil fuels are costly and unnecesary, but for existing buildings the transition of equipment can only be done with advanced planning and preparation.
The reporting of GHGs for large buildings does this. It is very effective.
Because the only way for longterm prosperity is not to consume ff at all. Everyone buying gasoline and diesel knows this with the recent 60% increase in price without any increase in domestic oil company costs.
