Sure Vivaldi is probably on one of the most "distinct" chromium forks but it's still ultimately dependent on Google for like 90% of their stack.

@hexaitos My desktop? All the time. Laptop, sleep mode all the time (partly because I frequently open and close my laptop constantly and need to keep my programs and files open).

Also I heard somewhere that frequently powering off and on wears down the battery and Apple Silicon Macbooks tend to have stupidly impressive sleep battery life (roughly two weeks or so)

@hexaitos Honestly if they could talk their conservations would be something like "Bet ya can't land this loose brick on that bloke's bold patch for a tena of points and bundle of some pretty neat sticks for my nest I found!"

@adr If we play our cards right, and the improvements to Linux's gaming performance keep coming in (particularly on Nvidia's side which is still a bit behind where it should be) then we might actually have a moment where Linux starts being noticed more by mainstream audiences. Like in the last few months the press around Linux has shifted way more positively and seems like newbies are experiencing way less issues than they used to.

If that happens, the network effect might kick in and Windows might be seen as the worse option. It's not the first time Microsoft went from first place to dead last by their own stupid own goals.

@earthshine I find it funny that we have become so widespread that if we were to be snapped out of existence, a not too insignificant amount of planes would literally fall out of the sky and globally critical infrastructure made inoperable.
