It was brought to my attention that my post has the appearance of slamming the present mayor, and that was not my intent. (as Torontonians are aware J. Tory signed the FIFA tickets agreement)
My point is this, even at at a municipal level it's important to be active in politics or our tax dollars add to this sort of pandering to the wealthiest when our money should go worthy causes.

Oh wait, I'm not sure that is entirely true, after all near the December holiday season, to assist low income Canadians with their celebrations, the three grocery chains offer reduced prices on selected store-brand items ,
that is after raising prices more than the seasonal discount.
Corporate Welfare Queens do want to look as though they have a conscience, and of course our media helps with that messaging as well.

These tax credits/rebates are simply a method used by political parties to provide the 'appearance" the government is "helping" the less fortunate, meanwhile they are pandering to big corporations--the true Welfare Queens of this country!
Every Canadian news outlet is headlining the news the government is bestowing a helpful grant to poverty-stricken Canadians but the reality is this does nothing to help lift folk out of misery.
