The cloud storage providers want to make you think that local storage is a major expense.
It's not -- hard drive space is cheap.
Any time you have an option to 'Make file available offline' -- do it.
And, when you buy a computer, you probably don't need the fastest processor available, but you should always go for the most hard drive space you can possibly afford.
(But don't be like me. No one really needs 10 terabytes of storage shoved awkwardly into their desktop computer -- it's just me -- I might have a little data hoarding problem.)
